J.D. Williams

J.D. spent his childhood in West Virginia, began piano at age 6, and a school much like Monteverdi formed his early education in music. At 13, he started taking piano more seriously, gave his first solo recital, and two years later attended the Tanglewood Institute. He graduated from the Peabody Conservatory with a Bachelor's in Piano Performance in 2001, and also participated in the Aspen, Banff, and Meadowmount music festivals while in college.  J.D. has made his home in Vermont since 2004, and feels very fortunate to be living in this beautiful state making his living teaching and playing piano while pursuing other passions of homesteading, hunting, mountain biking, backcountry skiing, and most of all spending time with his wife and 2 daughters. While he expects a solid commitment from his students to learn the art of playing the piano and finds great joy in seeing them excel, he finds the relationship he forms with them to be the most rewarding aspect of teaching.
