Andrea Cechak
Andrea teaches beginners on all woodwind and brass instruments and is herself an accomplished french horn player. She is an experienced music educator with more than 10 years of public school teaching experience. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in December 2010, Andrea began teaching private lessons to brass players -- beginner through advanced. Originally hailing from the Poconos, she spent many years teaching primary and secondary level students general music, voice, and instrumental music. Andrea completed her Master of Music Education degree from Kansas State University in August 2021.
Andrea has been an active horn and trumpet performer throughout Northeast Pennsylvania for the past 15 years, having performed with such groups as The Pocono Community Orchestra, The Trinity Centennial Band, The Jolly Rhinelanders, and Riverside Rhythm Big Band. She relocated to Barre in August of 2023 to begin a position with Barre Unified Union School District. Since coming to Vermont, Andrea has performed with The Green Mountain Youth Symphony and Vermont Philharmonic. It is Andrea's belief that music making is an innate human experience that enhances personal expression, communication, and creativity. Having taught a wide range of students and curriculum, she has discovered a true passion for helping music students to feel a sense of accomplishment no matter their foreknowledge of music.
